Energy Management has become a very important issue in Panamá since the country is growing very fast and its dependency from hydraulic sources does not permit a rapid growth of the electricity generated. Therefore, energy efficiency and energy management are key factors to be able to respond to this economic growth rapidly.
With the support of Mgtr. Edilberto Esquivel Marconi from the Ministry of Economic and Finance Affairs and the support of the Autoridad del Canal de Panamá, AEE Training Spain organized its first CEM(R) course & exam in Panamá City, June 2014.
There was a big interest around the energy professionals all over the country and in nearby countries in the Caribbean, and it was a successful initiative.
At the end of the course, all participants and other AEE certificated professionals in Panamá agreed to create a new chapter in Panamá, the AEE Panamá Chapter.  Led by Mgtr. Esquivel Marconi, the first organizational meeting of the Chapter in development was held in the training Center of the Autoridad del Canal de Panamá, with the support of Dr. Armando Llamas, Dr. Roman Moreno & Eng. Andrés Ortuño.
